1. Services
Skinny Lads Moving LLC provides residential, apartment, commercial, and long-distance moving services, as well as packing and unpacking, loading and unloading, furniture delivery, and assembly services as described on our website (skinnyladsmovingcompany.com).
Final pricing is provided via a quote based on the specific services, locations, and items involved. The quoted price may vary if additional services are requested or if the scope of the move differs from the original description.
2. Booking & Deposits
A deposit is required to confirm and secure your scheduled move date. Your move date is not guaranteed until a deposit has been received.
The remaining balance is due upon completion of the move. Deposit amounts and specific payment details will be communicated to you at the time of booking.
3. Cancellations & Rescheduling
We understand that plans change. You may cancel or reschedule your move at no penalty if you provide at least 24–48 hours' notice before your scheduled move date.
Cancellations or rescheduling requests made with less than 24 hours' notice may result in forfeiture of your deposit. The exact deposit refund policy will be confirmed with you at the time of booking.
4. Liability for Loss or Damage
Skinny Lads Moving LLC is a licensed and insured moving company (USDOT #4561257) and we take great care with your belongings. In the event of loss or damage occurring during a move, our liability is limited based on the released value of the goods, consistent with standard industry practice for moving companies.
If you believe any items were damaged or lost during your move, please notify us within 7 days of the move's completion so we can work to address your concern promptly.
We recommend reviewing your homeowner's or renter's insurance policy for additional coverage on your belongings during a move. Our cargo and liability insurance covers our operations in accordance with applicable regulations.
5. Customer Responsibilities
To ensure a smooth move, customers are responsible for:
- Accurately describing the items, volume, and services needed when requesting a quote
- Ensuring clear access and pathways at both the pickup and delivery locations on moving day
- Disclosing in advance any items that are hazardous, illegal to transport, extremely fragile, or of exceptionally high value (e.g. fine art, jewelry, irreplaceable heirlooms)
- Ensuring all items to be moved are properly disclosed — we reserve the right to decline items that were not disclosed at the time of booking
6. Payment
We accept payment via Square and other methods communicated at booking. Any payment card information you provide is processed securely by Square and is not stored by Skinny Lads Moving LLC.
Final charges may vary from your original estimate based on the actual services rendered, additional items moved, changes in distance, or modifications requested on moving day. We will communicate any changes before completing additional work.
7. Limitation of Liability
Skinny Lads Moving LLC is not responsible for delays or service interruptions caused by circumstances beyond our reasonable control, including but not limited to severe weather, road closures, traffic conditions, elevator or building access issues, or other unforeseen circumstances.
Our services are provided in accordance with applicable Wisconsin state laws and federal regulations, including those administered by the FMCSA (USDOT #4561257).
To the fullest extent permitted by law, our total liability to any customer shall not exceed the amount paid for the specific move in question.
8. Governing Law
These Terms of Service are governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of the State of Wisconsin, without regard to its conflict of law provisions. Any disputes arising from these terms or our services shall be resolved in the appropriate courts located in Wisconsin.
9. Changes to These Terms
We may update these Terms of Service from time to time to reflect changes in our practices or for other operational, legal, or regulatory reasons. When we do, we will update the effective date at the top of this page.
Your continued use of our website or services after any changes are posted constitutes your acceptance of the updated terms. We encourage you to review this page periodically.
